Superintendent Chris Ragsdale announced on Thursday night that the second Cobb Innovation and Technology Academy (CITA) will be located at Allatoona High School. The first academy, opened by Osborne High School, will see its first group of seniors who attended the school all four years graduate this May.

Ragsdale congratulated the students who completed a full four years at the Cobb Innovations and Technology Academy, saying, "Our students who attended CITA the last four years post-secondary plans include joining the workforce, joining the military or attending a technical or traditional college."

The success of the first CITA has paved the way for a second facility, which will be funded by Special Purpose Local Option Sales Taxes (SPLOST). Ragsdale also revealed that the district plans to open a third CITA in the northeastern part of the county. He emphasized, "It is our intent to have three (CITAs) to provide these pathways for our students and every opportunity for them to be successful."

The announcement of the second Cobb Career Academy was made by Superintendent Chris Ragsdale and was shared by the Cobb Chamber of Commerce.
