Dr. Brian Hare ’94, an evolutionary biologist and author at Duke University, was recently featured by 60 Minutes for his research on genetics and evolution of dogs’ friendliness.

Brian leads the Duke Canine Cognition Center, which is dedicated to the study of dog psychology and the effect of domestication on cognition.

As part of their research, the group studies the mental capabilities and limitations of dogs. Doing so, the center says, may help humans understand how our own minds evolved as they have found dog and human minds converge.
