Nine American Indian or Alaska Native students attended Mableton Elementary School in the 2024-25 school year, matching the prior year’s number, according to the Georgia Department of Education.

The school’s total enrollment reached 912 students in 2024-25. Of those, American Indian or Alaska Native students represented 1% of the population, making them the smallest group at the school.

Mableton Elementary School is part of Cobb County School District, whose central office is based in Marietta.

Within Cobb County School District’s 110 schools, Sprayberry High School had the largest number of American Indian or Alaska Native students for 2024-25, enrolling 17 students.

According to the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 report, over 1.7 million students attended Georgia’s public schools. Enrollment was highest in elementary grades with 787,206 students (45.9%), followed by 388,733 in middle school (22.7%) and 539,092 in high school (31.4%).

Chronic absenteeism continues to be a significant post-pandemic challenge for Georgia schools, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days in 2024, the Georgia Department of Education reported. In response, the department launched a statewide initiative with a real-time attendance dashboard, public outreach, and targeted support for districts with greater needs to increase attendance rates.

In 2025, Georgia updated its school attendance laws to prohibit expulsion strictly for absenteeism, while adding more reporting requirements and expanding diploma options through alternative programs.

Georgia’s student-to-teacher ratio was about 14:1 as of 2026, according to state data, which compares favorably to the national ratio of 15:1.
