Awtrey Middle School has launched its Buddy-A-Thon fundraiser, inviting students to participate in a program that allows them to create their own plush toy. The event, called “Create a Plush Buddy Day,” will take place on February 13 when the Bear Factory visits the school.

The school is encouraging families and supporters to register through the Awtrey portal. Once registered, participants can send emails and texts to friends and family, as well as share a fundraising link on social media platforms to support both the school and its students.

Students taking part in the fundraiser can earn various rewards based on the amount of donations they collect. Those who raise $50 will receive a 16-inch plush Buddy of their choice along with a tote bag, birth certificate, and heart insert. At the $100 donation level, students receive an outfit for their Buddy. Collecting $225 earns another outfit, while raising $275 leads to a Buddy being donated in the school’s name to a children’s hospital. Additional incentives include blankets at $375 and extra Buddies for those raising more than $475 or meeting higher donation thresholds.

“Please support our students by registering and using our Awtrey portal to send emails and texts to your friends and family. After you register, you can also share the link through your social media platforms to help our school and students.”

The initiative is designed not only as a fundraiser but also aims to foster community engagement among students, families, and supporters.
