The campus is part of Cobb County School District, headquartered in Marietta.

Across Cobb County School District’s 110 schools, Walton High School had the most white students enrolled in the 2024-25 term, totaling 1,561 students.

Georgia public schools reported enrollment over 1.7 million, according to the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 report. Enrollment rates were highest in elementary grades with 787,206 students (45.9%), followed by middle grades at 388,733 students (22.7%), and high schools with 539,092 students (31.4%).

According to the Georgia Department of Education, in 2024, chronic absenteeism persisted with 20.7% of students missing 10% or more school days after the pandemic. The GaDOE has launched initiatives, including an up-to-date attendance dashboard, awareness outreach, and targeted support for high-need districts to improve student attendance levels.

In 2025, state lawmakers approved a change to attendance laws, prohibiting expulsions solely for missing school. The legislation also introduced expanded reporting duties and programs supporting different diploma pathways for students.

Reports showed that by 2026, Georgia’s average student-to-teacher ratio stood at about 14:1, better than the national average of 15:1.
