More than 112 educators from the Cobb County School District were honored at the 2025 Teacher of the Year Pep Rally, held at Roswell Street Baptist Church on October 29. The event, which resembled a sports championship celebration, recognized teachers for their achievements and influence in and out of the classroom.
Teachers walked across the stage to applause from students, colleagues, family members, and community supporters. Each received a plaque as part of being named one of Cobb County’s 2025 Teachers of the Year.
The pep rally is organized as part of the Cobb Chamber’s Give Our Schools a Hand program. This initiative acknowledges over 120 Teachers of the Year from Cobb County, Marietta City schools, and local post-secondary institutions. The event is regarded as one of the nation’s most significant recognitions for public education.
Earlier this month, Amanda Dillard was honored at the Cobb Chamber’s Teacher of the Year Handprint Ceremony by having her handprints added to Marietta’s Teacher Walk of Fame. Superintendent Chris Ragsdale named Dillard as Cobb’s district-level Teacher of the Year in August.
At the rally, Marietta City School’s Teacher of the Year joined three district-level winners from Cobb in a drawing for a new car provided by Ed Voyles Automotive Group. The winner will drive it free for a year; if chosen as Georgia’s Teacher of the Year, they will keep it permanently.
Superintendent Chris Ragsdale stated: “Congratulations to all of Cobb’s Teachers of the Year on this incredible accomplishment!”
