The Cobb County School District Board of Education held a special meeting on January 6, 2026, to elect its leadership for the year. During the meeting, Randy Scamihorn, representing Post 1, was chosen as Board Chair for 2026. David Chastain, from Post 4, was elected as Vice-Chair.

The board also approved its meeting calendar for 2026. The first meeting of the year is set for January 22.
