On December 13, the Cobb County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Cobb Sheriff’s Foundation, held its fourth annual Santa on Wheels event. This year, the program adopted a school-focused approach by delivering toys to elementary students from schools that feed into Lindley and Floyd Middle Schools in Cobb County.

More than 2,000 toys were distributed by deputies, civilian staff, volunteers, and community partners throughout the morning. The event also included bike raffles and festive activities for students and their families. Sheriff Craig D. Owens and Mrs. Sharon Owens participated as Santa and Mrs. Claus at both school locations.

Volunteers from Walmart and representatives of the Martin Luther King Jr. Center supported the effort to provide a memorable holiday experience for local families.

“Santa on Wheels is about more than toys — it’s about showing our community that they are seen, valued, and supported,” said Robert Haley, founder and executive director of the Cobb Sheriff’s Foundation. “Because of the generosity of our partners, volunteers, and citizens, we were able to make a meaningful impact on Cobb County families and bring joy to thousands of children this holiday season. We are grateful for everyone who helped make this possible.”

At Floyd Middle School, students performed live music with the string orchestra and showcased dances as part of the celebration.

The Santa on Wheels program is an ongoing tradition for the sheriff’s office as part of its commitment to community engagement.
