Forbes has named Cobb County School District one of Georgia’s best places to work for the seventh consecutive year. The district is ranked 26th in the state and is the highest-rated school system in the Atlanta metro area.

Cobb Schools surpassed national companies such as Home Depot, Target, Coca-Cola, and Wells Fargo, as well as every university in Georgia, according to Forbes’ list. Another large metro Atlanta school district also appeared on the list but was ranked more than 60 spots below Cobb.

The district reported that 99% of its teachers have returned for the current school year. David Chastain, Chair of the Cobb County School District Board, commented on this achievement: “At the heart of our schools is the best team of educators in public education, and this repeated honor, for the 7th straight year from an international brand like Forbes, is proof of that.”

A significant factor contributing to Cobb’s recognition is Georgia’s BEST—a partnership with the University of West Georgia. This program allows Cobb educators to pursue advanced degrees without financial cost. Since its launch two years ago, more than 600 Cobb educators have participated in Georgia’s BEST. The initiative aims to strengthen both staff retention and student outcomes by supporting professional growth among teachers.

The program continues to expand each year and provides opportunities for educators to advance their qualifications and increase their earnings while fostering internal growth within Cobb Schools.

Superintendent Ragsdale recently named Amanda Dillard as Cobb Teacher of the Year.
