The Compton Foundation announced on Mar. 26 a new fundraising event called the Bucket Battle Fundraiser, inviting all students at Compton Elementary School in grades kindergarten through five to participate in a competition to raise money.
The fundraiser aims to support student programs and initiatives at Compton Elementary School, with each grade level competing to see which can collect the most donations. According to the announcement, all funds raised will benefit students and ongoing projects through the foundation.
Compton Elementary School serves students from kindergarten through fifth grade and offers after-school activities as well as digital learning resources, according to the official website. The school is part of the Cobb County School District and serves families in the Powder Springs area within that district.
Family involvement is promoted at Compton Elementary through its Parent Teacher Association, and it participates in Title I programs designed to support student achievement, according to the official website. The school also aims “to create a secure and challenging educational atmosphere that helps students reach academic heights,” according to its official site.
The Cobb County School District has been recognized for outperforming state averages in academics and has been named a top workplace in Georgia, according to information available on its official website.
