Durham Middle School announced on March 9 that its annual book fair will take place in the school library from Monday, March 16 through Friday, March 20. The event will run daily from 8:50 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

The book fair is an opportunity for students and families to purchase books while supporting the school’s library programs. According to librarian Erin Baker, “Choosing books you want to read empowers you to become bolder, prouder, and stronger readers. Plus, every book purchased helps support our library programs!”

Funds raised during the event will be used for rewards such as Beanstack Reading Challenge activities and prizes, as well as for purchasing books and materials for clubs like Lunch Bunch Book Club and Crochet Circle. Additionally, proceeds will help provide instructional resources including breakout kits, manipulatives, and interactive learning tools for collaborative lessons with classroom teachers.

The school offers several payment options at the fair including cash, credit or debit cards, Apple Pay, and Kid Credit. Families can also give the gift of books without cash by sharing their child’s kidCode link with friends and family or by donating unused balances online.

Durham Middle School aligns with the Cobb County School District’s reputation for educational excellence according to the official website. The school operates under this district in the Cobb County area of Georgia according to the official website and aims to empower, connect, motivate and help students succeed according to the official website. Community involvement is promoted through a Parent Teacher Student Association according to the official website, while after-school programs and digital learning resources are also available according to the official website.

Baker thanked families for their support of the library programs and encouraged everyone to participate in this year’s book fair.
