FOIA Request to Cobb County Police Department regarding active employee roster on November 13, 2025.

A request for public records was submitted to the Cobb County Police Department under the Georgia Open Records Act. The request, sent by a representative of Cobb Reporter, seeks access to documents that identify all current employees of the department. Specifically, the requested records include any roster, directory, staffing list, payroll record, or personnel summary. These documents should detail each employee’s name, job title or rank, sex or gender (if available), date of hire or appointment, and age or year of birth (only if this information is part of existing public-facing records).

The request also specifies that if multiple versions of such rosters exist—such as HR rosters, payroll rosters, sworn-officer rosters, and civilian-staff rosters—the most recent version of each should be provided. The requester has expressed a preference for receiving these records in electronic format.

As a member of the media organization Cobb Reporter and affiliated with The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy—a non-profit organization assisting media companies in investigating governmental agencies—the requester has asked for a fee waiver based on their role in gathering and reporting news to the public.

We look forward to receiving this information in an electronic format as it will greatly aid in our reporting efforts. As always, we remain open for any questions or clarifications regarding this request.
