Reports from the Georgia Department of Education show that Kennesaw Mountain High School saw 332 Hispanic students enrolled in the 2024-25 school year, marking a 12.5% increase from the prior year.

Total enrollment for Kennesaw Mountain High School reached 1,660 students in the 2024-25 school year. Hispanic students represented 20% of the student population, ranking as the third-largest demographic group at the school.

The high school is part of Cobb County School District, which has its main office in Marietta.

Out of 110 schools in the Cobb County School District, Osborne High School had the highest Hispanic student enrollment in 2024-25, with 1,809 students.

The National Center for Education Statistics reported the statewide racial and ethnic breakdown of Georgia public school students as 36.4% Black, 35.9% white, 18.1% Hispanic, 4% Asian, 4.6% multiracial, 0.2% American Indian or Alaska Native, and 0.1% Pacific Islander.

Chronic absenteeism continues to challenge schools in Georgia after the pandemic, with 20.7% of students missing at least 10% of school days in 2024, according to the Georgia Department of Education. To address this, GaDOE introduced a statewide effort that includes a real-time attendance tracker, a public campaign, and directed aid for districts with the highest need to improve daily attendance.

A new law passed by Georgia lawmakers in 2025 updated school attendance policies, prohibiting expulsion based only on absenteeism and adding fresh reporting requirements, while aligning with alternative diploma programs.

By 2026, Georgia’s average student-to-teacher ratio was about 14:1, surpassing the national average of 15:1.
