Labelle Elementary School is inviting families to attend its annual Friends and Family Thanksgiving Feast in November, which coincides with National Family Engagement Month. The event aims to bring together students and their loved ones for a shared meal at the school.
“We are thankful for the opportunity to share a very special meal with the people who are special in our students’ lives,” said the school in an announcement.
To help ensure that the lunch service runs efficiently, guests are asked to bring identification and prepay for all lunches before arriving. Payments can be made online through My Payment Plus or by sending money with students so cafeteria staff can add it to their accounts. The cost of lunch is $6.00 per guest. According to the school, “By having all guest meals paid in advance our line will move quickly, and we can get all our guests through the line without having to accept cash and make change at the register.”
The schedule for the Thanksgiving Feast is organized by grade level over two days:
– Wednesday, November 12: First Grade (Harris, Knight, White, Capers), Kindergarten (Castleberry, Hendrix, Williams), Fourth Grade (Buck, Hamilton, Villatoro)
– Thursday, November 13: Third Grade (Brown, Conkle, Denker, Murdock), Fifth Grade (Alexander, Burlock, Padilla, Turner), Second Grade (Hadden, McElhaney, Shirinzadeh)
Each class has a designated time slot during which families can join their children for lunch.
“Thank you and we look forward to serving our community!” stated Labelle Elementary School.
A Spanish-language version of the invitation was also provided by the school: “Estamos agradecidos por la oportunidad de compartir un almuerzo especial con los seres queridos de nuestros estudiantes.”
The school emphasized that prepayment will help avoid delays during lunchtime so everyone has more time to enjoy their meal together.
