Lassiter and Wheeler high schools celebrate state championships in winter sports

Lassiter and Wheeler high schools were featured on the Cobb Sports Podcast on March 31 as they celebrated recent state championship victories in winter sports.

The episode highlighted significant achievements for both schools, with Lassiter’s boys and girls swim teams each winning state titles—marking the first for the boys team and a seventh consecutive title for the girls. Ashlyn Loftin, Alex O’Brien, and Coach Brittany Hughes joined the podcast to discuss their successful season.

Wheeler High School’s boys basketball team also earned recognition after securing its eleventh school state title, which is its fifth in seven years under Coach Larry Thompson. Athletic Director Barry Bowdre and members of the Wildcat starting lineup participated in the discussion to reflect on their accomplishment.
