Lovett School issued the following announcement on May 31.

The Lovett School named the 2022 Region’s Director’s Cup Champion in the 2A classification by the Georgia Athletic Director’s Association.

The Lovett School was named the 2022 Regions Banks Director’s Cup Champion in the 2A classification by the Georgia Athletic Director’s Association.

Lovett garnered the most points throughout the year of competition in all sports with a score of 1,400 points. Lovett also finished first on the girls side with 675 points and second on the boys side with 725 points.

This marks the fourth time Lovett has won the overall Director’s Cup and the second time winning back-to-back awards.

The purpose of the Regions Bank Director’s Cup is to recognize those athletic departments in all GHSA classifications who have excelled and shown superior performance. Since the 1999-2000 school year, the GADA has presented this award annually.

Athletic Director Adam Nelson talked about how Lovett carried itself this year.

“I am proud of the 532 student-athletes and 67 coaches working with our Upper School athletics programs this year,” Nelson said. “In an incredibly competitive classification, it required the collective efforts of all of our programs to secure the Director’s Cup for the second year in a row. Congratulations to the Lovett Lions!”
