Mabry Middle School announced on Apr. 20 that the annual “Enchanted Garden” dance for eighth graders will take place on Thursday, May 14, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the school. Admission to the event is free, and it is organized by Mabry PTSA in partnership with the school’s administration as a farewell celebration for students moving on to high school.

The event serves as an important milestone for eighth-grade students, marking their transition from middle to high school. Parents are required to submit a permission form by noon on Tuesday, May 12, and opportunities are available for families to contribute donations or volunteer as chaperones through sign-up links provided in Mabry PTSA eBlast and The Mabry Messenger.

Volunteers are needed both for setting up the event and supervising during the dance. In keeping with tradition, parents of sixth- and seventh-grade students are especially encouraged to serve as chaperones.

Mabry Middle School emphasizes social-emotional learning through programs such as Sources of Strength and Second Step in order to foster student leadership and well-being, according to the official website. The school also supports academic achievement with seven computer labs and multiple laptop and iPad carts designed for technology integration according to its official website.

Music education plays a significant role at Mabry Middle School; nearly ninety percent of sixth-grade students participate in music programs, which have earned superior ratings at Georgia Music Educators’ evaluations as stated on its official site. The school belongs to Cobb County School District as noted online.

The school seeks to enhance student success by providing a supportive atmosphere throughout all activities according to its official website. Organizers say they look forward to celebrating this important moment with students while involving parents across different grades.
