Palmer Middle School announced on Mar. 4 that it will hold its Rising 6th-Grade Spirit Night for incoming students and their parents on Tuesday, March 31, at 6:30 p.m.

The event is designed to help new students and their families learn about middle school life at Palmer. Students will attend sessions where they can meet sixth-grade teachers, staff, and other future classmates. Parents will have the opportunity to hear from the administration about important information regarding the transition to middle school.

Upon arrival, rising sixth graders and their parents or caregivers will check in at a table in the front lobby. Each child will receive a colored rubber wrist band matching a program given to their family. While parents attend an initial meeting in the theater, students will participate in separate sessions throughout the school.

Palmer Middle School contributes to student development in a supportive environment, as noted in its focus on educational achievement, according to the official website. The school has earned recognition as an AVID National Demonstration School and for its high standards in college and career readiness, according to the official website. It is also noted as the only AVID National Demonstration School in Georgia, according to the official website.

Palmer Middle School operates as part of the Cobb County School District and enrolls about 800 students, according to the official website. The school seeks to empower students for success and prepare them for future educational and career paths, according to the official website.
