Students at Russell Elementary School in grades one through five have been assigned a science fair project as part of their third quarter STEM curriculum. The projects are due on February 23 or 24, 2026.
The school has emphasized that students’ submissions must be experiments rather than crafts. According to the guidelines provided: “Experiment: Finding something out (discovery)” and “Craft: Making something (replicating).” This distinction aims to ensure that students engage in scientific inquiry rather than simply creating objects.
Science fairs are commonly used by schools to encourage hands-on learning and foster interest in science among students.
