Sedalia Park Elementary School announced on Mar. 24 that it will host a STEM Night and Book Fair on April 23 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
The event aims to bring together students and their families for an evening of hands-on science activities, experiments, and reading opportunities. The school says the event is free and open to all Sedalia Park students and their families.
Attendees can participate in several interactive science experiments, including a density layer experiment to explore floating and sinking, making binary code bracelets with beads representing computer coding patterns, creating paper chromatography bookmarks to reveal hidden ink pigments, inertia demonstrations based on Newton’s laws of motion, and launching mini-rockets as part of a projectile motion activity.
In addition to the STEM activities, the Literati Book Fair will take place in the Media Center. Families are invited to browse books suitable for all readers at the fair or through an online store linked by the school.
