Simpson Middle School will hold its second annual Miles for Mental Health Run on October 17. The event is scheduled during connections classes and all students are invited to take part in a 5K run or walk. According to the school, participation does not require registration, allowing every student the opportunity to join.

Those who choose to register and pay a $25 fee will receive a T-shirt and have their participation officially recorded. The school noted that more than 400 people have already signed up for similar events throughout the district.

The event aims to raise awareness about mental health among students and is sponsored by Simpson Sources of Strength Peer Leaders. “We can’t wait to host and celebrate mental health awareness with all of our Simpson family!” said organizers in a statement.
