CITY OF MARIETTA: Marietta Taxes Decrease for 3rd Year in a Row

City of Marietta issued the following announcement on July 8. 

The City of Marietta is pleased to announce that property taxes in the city have decreased for the third year in a row and that the current General Fund millage rate has remained the same for the last 19 years. 

At the June 9, 2021 City Council meeting, Council adopted its annual fiscal budget which actually reduces the City’s overall tax millage for the third year in a row. The total reduction over the last 3 years is .5 mills. 

Citizens are invited to the public hearings related to the millage rate which will be held at Marietta City Hall, 205 Lawrence Street, Marietta, Georgia in the Council Chamber on July 20, 2021, at 9:00 am and 6:00 pm and on July 27, 2021 at 9:00 am. 

For more information about the City's budgeting process please view our press release announcing that City Council adopted a balanced budget on June 9, 2021 without raising taxes or establishing new fees, which also included no service reductions.
