Cobb Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Apr. 11.
The Partnership CEO expected to highlight career and experience as owner of Atlanta’s oldest privately held public relations, marketing, and brand communications agency.
The University of West Georgia Richards College of Business is set to induct more outstanding junior, senior, and graduate students into the Beta Gamma Sigma Business Honors Society.
The ceremony and induction ceremony will be held on April 14 with Amanda Lucey, University of West Georgia alumna and CEO of The Partnership, selected to give the keynote address.
Beta Gamma Sigma was founded in 1913, making this the 109th anniversary for the well-respected national scholastic honor society – the only society in the field of business administration that is recognized by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International.
The Beta Gamma Sigma Society is open to business major students who have been with the Richards College of Business on the campus of the University of West Georgia for at least one year. After reviewing business majors’ GPAs, invitations are extended to the highest academic performers who fall within the top 10 percent of second-semester juniors, the top 10 percent of seniors, and the top 20 percent of graduate students.
This year, the keynote address will be given by Amanda Lucey, who will talk about her experience as a business owner and CEO. Amanda’s remarkable career spans the public and private sectors in two continents, during which she gained hands-on experience in communications and public affairs, marketing, and entrepreneurship. Her career trajectory has led to her current venture at the helm of The Partnership, Atlanta’s oldest privately held public relations, marketing, and brand communications agency.
During the ceremony, the University of West Georgia chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma will recognize a student that has shown brilliance with an Award of Excellence. The faculty selected student will be awarded based on an exceptional GPA, prior honors, and their involvement in extracurricular activities. Likewise, the Professor of the Year will be announced, going to an outstanding member of staff who has shown exemplary dedication to the students and the department, as well as being a figure of note within their field.
The Partnership has a long history of offering its resources and knowledge to help those in the local community. Through Amanda’s speech, we hope that the students and graduates in attendance will be inspired to follow in her footsteps and achieve their individual potential.
