COBB COUNTY: Chairwoman Cupid signs I-285 Top End Transit Concept Agreement

Cobb County issued the following announcement on May 12.

Chairwoman Lisa Cupid joined fellow Chairs of four metro counties, local mayors, and state transportation leaders at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop a transit concept for the upcoming I-285 Express Lanes.

The lanes are similar to the express lanes that run up through I-75 and I-575 in Cobb County, but there will be two lanes on each side of I-285.  This $16 million concept will design a transit express lane component for the larger project and stops for the express service across the top end.

Cobb's Board allocated the county's $580,000 share for the concept through federally-allocated ARPA transit funds during a vote last December.
