The Marietta Police Department is dedicated to protecting its citizens in every way possible. While our focus is on finding ways to fight and prevent crime we are also dedicated in finding ways to educate the public. Marietta Police Department is now offering 12-hour Rape Aggression Defense (R.A.D.) classes. R.A.D. is a simple yet effective self-defense course for women only.

The techniques are designed to be quick and effective in delivering pain to vulnerable locations on the attacker’s body. The courses are designed so that women of all fitness levels and ages will successfully learn options to escape attacks. The R.A.D. program is based on a twelve-hour course, delivered over (4) three hour classes.

Participation in all four classes is necessary to complete the course. Participants must be 14 years of age (parent or female guardian must attend with anyone 16 and under); no jewelry is allowed during class. Gym attire is recommended.
