The City of Powder Springs is organizing its annual free-to-the-public 4th of July Celebration, featuring two live bands, food vendors, arts and crafts vendors, a kids’ area with activities, a car show showcasing classic and modern vehicles, and a fireworks display to conclude the evening. The event will be held downtown and within Thurman Springs Park (4485 Pineview Drive), starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, July 4. The fireworks show is scheduled to begin around 9:30 p.m., sponsored by Croy Engineering, launching from Powder Springs Park.

The festivities will kick off with live music on the Thurman Springs Park stage at 6 p.m., featuring 7 Sharp 9, a power trio performing hits from the 80s and 90s along with original songs. September in the Park, an Earth, Wind & Fire and Chicago tribute band, will take the stage just before 8 p.m.

Children’s activities starting at 6 p.m. include The Doc Magic Fun Time Variety Show with magic acts, comedy, and balloon entertainment. Showtimes are set for 6:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m.

Returning for its third consecutive year is the Powder Springs 4th of July Celebration Cruise-In on Marietta Street. Vehicle owners can display their cars downtown and compete for awards such as Judges’ Choice, People’s Choice, and Best of Show. There is no registration fee required; owners can pre-register online or register on the day of the event between 2 to 4:30 p.m., space permitting. Vehicles must be driven to and from the event; trailered vehicles are not allowed.
