ATLANTA, July 8, 2024 – ArtsBridge Foundation will host the 2024 Overture Gala, themed “A Night at the Cabaret,” on August 3, 2024, at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre. The event aims to support the Foundation’s arts education and financial aid subsidy programs for Georgia’s Pre-K to 12th-grade students.
The gala is co-chaired by Kathy McLean, founder and CEO of Welborn McLean Group, and Roderick McLean, vice president and general manager of the Air Mobility & Maritime Missions Line of Business at Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Company. Allen Devlin, an award-winning anchor from Atlanta News First, will serve as Master of Ceremonies.
The Principal Sponsor for the event is Georgia Institute of Technology’s College of Engineering, with Modern Luxury magazine as the Media Sponsor. The Host Committee includes Darryl Armstrong (Atlanta Brand Central), Stacey Chapman (CROFT & Associates), Erin & Charlie Chesnutt (Genuine Parts Company - Ret.), Lynn & Doug Flanders (Ocean Center-Daytona Beach), Fran & Bruce Friedrich (Renasant Bank), Courtney May (Empire Distributors), and Gail & Napoleon Rutledge Jr. (McKesson).
The evening will commence with a cocktail hour featuring performances by Georgia student jazz artists. A gourmet three-course dinner will follow, accompanied by a live auction offering packages for trips to Tuscany and South Africa. During dinner, attendees will enjoy performances from nominees in the Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards program. The After-Party will feature music by the Eric Thomas Project.
Jennifer D. Dobbs, executive director for ArtsBridge Foundation stated: “We are very excited to bring our community a night where supporting and celebrating art is both the means of entertainment and the goal of our event.” She added that “the event theme ‘Blue Rhapsody’ suggests it will be an immersive experience where guests will be transported back in time through melodic jazz sounds in a cabaret-style theatre-in-the-round space.”
ArtsBridge Foundation focuses on enriching lives through transformative arts education experiences aligned with classroom curriculum and Georgia Standards of Excellence. Since its inception in 2007, ArtsBridge has served nearly 425,000 students and educators from 70 Georgia counties and five bordering states.
