The Cobb Chamber’s Cumberland Area Council will host a luncheon on July 18 featuring speakers Katie Hearn and Ken Johnson, who have transformed personal challenges into success stories. The event aims to discuss creating inclusive workplace environments.

Katie Hearn, Manager of Gameday Staffing and Administration and certified Club ADA Coordinator for the Atlanta Braves, experienced sudden vision loss in April 2017. She quickly demonstrated that her lack of vision would not define her. A recipient of the organization’s Walter Banks Hospitality Award in 2018, she contributes to personalized gameday experiences at Truist Park. Hearn also serves on Governor Brian Kemp’s State Rehabilitation Council and the Board of Directors for the Bobby Dodd Institute.

Ken Johnson is a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 25 years of experience. Specializing in counseling individuals, couples, children, adolescents, and families facing various issues such as anxiety and depression, Johnson faced a medical emergency that left him paralyzed. He now focuses on helping others cope with tragedy and loss.

The luncheon is designed for employers, colleagues, or anyone facing challenges to gain inspiration and practical takeaways. Registration is open until July 16 at https://tinyurl.com/5adsrs96. The event will be held at the Atlanta Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, with tickets priced at $30 for Cobb Chamber members and $40 for general admission.

This event is sponsored by Northside Hospital and Mauldin & Jenkins, LLC. For more information on Area Councils or to contact Katie Guice, email kguice@cobbchamber.org.
