The Atlanta Pride Celebration 2024 will take place at Schoolhouse Brewing, with this year's theme being "Everyone Needs to Glow Up." The event, scheduled for September 14th, aims to raise funds for the Atlanta Pride Committee (APC) and the annual Atlanta Pride festival in October. Proceeds from the celebration will support ongoing efforts to combat inequality and discrimination while advocating for LGBTQ+ rights.
Atlanta Pride is recognized as one of the longest-running Pride celebrations in the nation and remains a free event. It serves as a platform for visibility, community, and advocacy, uniting people to push for an inclusive and equitable future. Elizabeth Fennell, a board member of the Atlanta Pride Committee, emphasized the importance of community and standing up for equality. "Pride isn’t just a celebration—it’s a statement of resilience, love, and the relentless pursuit of justice for all," Fennell stated.
The event will feature live music from local artists including Cash Honey and Lunar Grove, food trucks offering a variety of dishes, and performances by drag queens such as Mona Lott. Thomas Monti, owner of Schoolhouse Brewing, expressed his commitment to supporting the LGBTQ+ community. "Supporting the LGBTQ+ community is not just about being a good business; it’s about being a good neighbor," Monti said.
Special highlights include limited-release beers crafted specifically for the event and ATL Pride Packs available for pre-order. The $50 pack includes a limited edition shirt, commemorative glass, and a complimentary beer. The $20 pack includes a limited edition glass and one free beer.
The Atlanta Pride Committee is dedicated to promoting unity, visibility, and self-esteem among the LGBTQ+ community through various initiatives. Schoolhouse Brewing is known for its innovative craft beers and supportive environment.
