Addison third graders earn literacy leader award from Georgia Department of Education

Addison Elementary has been recognized as a Literacy Leader in reading by the Georgia Department of Education. This recognition comes after notable improvements in third-grade students' Reading Georgia Milestones scores from the 2022-2023 academic year to 2023-2024.

The school expressed gratitude to its dedicated teachers and hardworking students for their efforts, as well as to supporters such as the PTA, Foundation, and community members. Their collective support was instrumental in achieving this milestone.

Georgia Schools Superintendent Richard Woods acknowledged Addison Elementary along with 16 other Cobb Schools that received this distinguished award. The schools honored include Mountain View Elementary School, Eastside Elementary School, Still Elementary School, Tritt Elementary School, Garrison Mill Elementary School, Keheley Elementary School, Pitner Elementary School, Mount Bethel Elementary School, Shallowford Falls Elementary School, Murdock Elementary School, Davis Elementary School, Nicholson Elementary School, Hendricks Elementary School, Sope Creek Elementary School, Acworth Intermediate School, and Timber Ridge Elementary School.
