The latest movie from filmmaker Dinesh D’Souza, titled “Police State,” will be shown at a Kennesaw movie theater on Oct. 23 and Oct. 25.
The film explores the concept of a police state and its roots in various government actions, from the “Patriot Act” following 9/11 to more recent instances of COVID lockdowns, social media censorship, and the surveillance and detention of Americans in relation to the events of January 6, 2021.
D’Souza expressed surprise at the need to make a movie like “Police State” in the current political landscape. He stated, “I honestly wouldn’t have believed, prior to the 2020 election and prior to Biden coming to office, that I’d be making this movie. Which really shows that we have seen a speedy introduction of the police state on many different levels.”
The film features D’Souza himself, along with actor Nick Searcy, and interviews with U.S. House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan (R), radio host Dan Bongino, and several government whistleblowers.
The trailer for “Police State” has garnered 74 million views on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) as of publication time.
The movie will be shown at the AMC Barrett Commons 24 theater, located at 2600 Cobb Place Ln NW. There will be screenings at 6:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on both Oct. 23 and Oct. 25. In addition to Kennesaw, the film will be shown in other cities including Atlanta, Brunswick, Evans, and Savannah.
