Rick Steiner, Acworth Resident and Former Wrestler, Born March 9, 1961
Rick Steiner, born Robert Rechsteiner on March 9, 1961, in Bay City, Michigan, is a former professional wrestler who achieved significant success in the sport. Known for his time in World Championship Wrestling (WCW), Steiner won eight World Tag Team Championships, seven of those with his brother Scott as the Steiner Brothers. In addition, he captured the United States Heavyweight Championship and three World Television Championships. Steiner was also successful in New Japan Pro-Wrestling, where he and Scott won the IWGP Tag Team Championship twice. Steiner’s early wrestling career began at the University of Michigan, where he set a school record for the fastest pin. After retiring from wrestling, he became involved in real estate in Acworth, Georgia area, where he still resides. He continues to be an influential figure in the community and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2022.
