Vaughan Elementary School announced on March 30 that it is celebrating National Paraprofessional Week, recognizing the contributions of paraprofessionals to students and school operations. The school also outlined several activities and reminders for families as the academic year progresses.

The recognition of paraprofessionals highlights their importance in supporting various areas within the school. Staff members Christy Adams, Marcie Hauer, Kristin Hill, April Madaris, Cindy Martin, Debra Meadows, Lauren Reid, and Dana Turner were specifically acknowledged for their efforts. “We appreciate you and hope you have a great week!” the announcement said.

Families are invited to participate in the April Family STEM Challenge by designing a soft landing capsule to protect an egg during a simulated moon landing at home. Participants are encouraged not to bring raw eggs to school but may submit either their clean capsule or a photo of their experiment by April 28. A featured story related to this challenge can be accessed online.

For planning purposes for the next academic year (2026-27), parents are asked to complete a non-returning student form if their child will not return to Vaughan Elementary School—except for current fifth graders. Additionally, families can provide optional input about class placement through an online form available until March 29.

Recent student celebrations included birthdays and recognitions such as ASP & classroom PBIS Raffle Winners and Vaughan Spirit Wear Winner. Staff members Rebecca Esson (IRR Teacher) and Julie Chow (1st grade Teacher) were named Staff Members of the Month.

The school’s upcoming events include Strong4Life during lunch on April 1, Spring Break from April 6-10, Terrific Kids Self Confidence program on April 16 along with Kindergarten Orientation/PTSA meeting that morning, Milestones testing from April 21-30, and the end of Spring Fun Clubs on April 27.

Vaughan Elementary School emphasizes student learning by implementing structured daily schedules to encourage punctuality and timely dismissal according to the official website. The school is located at 5950 Nichols Road in Powder Springs, Georgia according to its official website.
