Vaughan Elementary School has launched its annual PTSA fundraiser, Rocket Blast, with a pep rally held on August 29. The event encourages students to join their classroom teams, led by their homeroom teachers. Students who register by midnight on September 1 will be entered into a drawing for a chance to ride a golf cart with school administrators inside the building. The drawing is scheduled for September 3 during the morning news broadcast.

The fundraising goal for this year is $30,000. The school has provided information about prizes and how donations support school programs through an online link. Organizers remind families that when making donations online, there is an automatic tip option that can be opted out of; the tip covers program fees and does not go to Vaughan Elementary.

In addition to Rocket Blast activities, Vaughan recently hosted Zaxby’s Spirit Night and recognized student achievements in several areas. Weekly PBIS raffle winners were announced for demonstrating accountability, receiving Mission: Success stickers as rewards. Two students also won the PBIS Bus Raffle for positive behavior while riding the bus.

The start of the 2025–2026 Smarty Pants season was marked by recognizing students who have shown notable growth in reading skills. Other recognitions included spirit wear winners and Zaxby’s Spirit Night winner.

Upcoming events at Vaughan include Chick-fil-A Spirit Day on September 9, Patriot Day and Walk to School Day on September 11, followed by a PTSA General Meeting and Open House that evening from 6-7:30 p.m. Rocket Blast Field Day will take place during specials on September 19. Fall Break is set for September 22-26, with the Fall Bookfair running from September 29 through October 3.

The Yearbook Cover Contest deadline is September 12; entry forms are available in the school lobby. Information about accessing Milestones scores via CTLS Parent was also shared with families.

The school’s stated vision is “An innovative learning community achieving academic excellence for all,” and its mission is “Engage-Inspire-Achieve.”
