In the 2024-25 school year, Allatoona High School had an enrollment of 864 white students, a decrease of 7.5% compared with the prior year, reports from the Georgia Department of Education showed.
According to state data, Allatoona High School enrolled a total of 1,544 students in 2024-25. Of that total, white students accounted for 56%, making them the school’s largest demographic group.
The campus, located in the Cobb County School District, falls under the central office in Marietta.
Of the 110 schools that make up Cobb County School District, Walton High School held the largest white student enrollment, recording 1,561 students for the 2024-25 school year.
Georgia’s public schools had more than 1.7 million students registered, the Georgia Department of Education’s Fiscal Year 2026-1 report found. The highest enrollment was in elementary grades with 787,206 students (45.9%), followed by 388,733 students (22.7%) in middle schools, and 539,092 students (31.4%) in high schools.
Chronic absenteeism is still a significant challenge across Georgia schools since the pandemic, with 20.7% of students absent for at least 10% of days during 2024, according to the Georgia Department of Education. The state agency launched new initiatives involving a real-time attendance dashboard, an awareness campaign, and targeted support for high-need districts to improve student attendance.
During 2025, new Georgia legislation amended school attendance laws, prohibiting expulsion as a sole consequence for absenteeism, incorporating additional reporting requirements, and supporting alternative programs for students pursuing diplomas.
By 2026, Georgia reported an average student-to-teacher ratio close to 14:1, which is lower than the nationwide average of 15:1.
