Georgia homicide rate estimated at 8.8 per 100,000 last year, FBI reports

Georgia last year recorded a homicide rate of 8.8 per 100,000 residents, compared to the U.S. rate of 6.5 per 100,000 and the state’s 5.7 rate a decade earlier, according to newly released FBI crime data.
