Cost of college went up for all students at Fortis College-Smyrna

Tuition and fees rose 1.3 percent for 2018-19 at Fortis College-Smyrna, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Georgia students paid $14,815 to attend the two-year private for-profit institution this year – $184 more than the $14,631 charged for 2017-18.

Data shows 96 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 88 students received grants or scholarships totaling $501,142 and 77 students took out student loans totaling more than $584,701.

Including all undergraduates (613), 505 students used grants or scholarships totaling $2.4 million, and 383 students took out $2.8 million in federal student loans.
