David Bank, a member of the Cobb School Board, recently sent out an email discouraging COVID vaccines in the school system.

Bank's email addressed parents of Cobb students with previously debunked information regarding the number of deaths caused by the vaccine, as well as the use of hydroxychloroquine and ivermectin to treat COVID, according to Cobb County Courier.

"We don't need a COGNIA Review to know that Cobb Schools leadership is failing us. The vice chair of the Cobb School Board, elected by the GOP majority, is spreading dangerous misinformation about COVID vaccines using his official email," Cobb County Democrats said in a tweet on Tuesday.

In his email, Bank quoted Macht Im Wissen Inc. CEO Emery Leonard, who claimed that the COVID-19 virus was created in a lab in China and does not exist in nature, and advocated for the use of medically questionable substances such as ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine, according to East Cobb News.

Following the email, many parents have reached out to the school board asking for Bank's removal, citing his reckless ideas, according to Cobb County Courier.

“This really is reckless behavior. I’d support any effort to remove him … this is the only response I’ve ever received to my emails to the school board," Rachel Lekherzak, a Cobb parent, said to Cobb County Courier.
