Asian American Hotel Owners Association issued the following announcement on May 5.
Today Gov. Brian Kemp signed SB 331, the “Protecting Georgia Businesses and Workers Act,” delivering a major piece of legislation to small businesses operating in the state of Georgia. In short, the legislation acts “to prohibit the regulation of employee work hours, scheduling, and output by local government entities.” As hoteliers continue down to road to recovery, it is an imperative step to ensure that small business owners and operators are not subjected to a myriad of state and local labor regulations that complicate their workforce management.
AAHOA and our state partners were driving forces behind this legislation. We extend our thanks to the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the Georgia Hotel & Lodging Association, and our AAHOA Members engaged on the issue.
