Smith-Gilbert Gardens is gearing up for an exciting event to kick off their annual Butterfly Exhibit. The event, named Pollinator Palooza, is set to take place on Saturday, June 1, 2024, and will mark the beginning of the highly anticipated "A Garden with Wings" exhibit.

Executive Director of Smith-Gilbert Gardens, Dave Simpson, expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event, stating, “We are excited to announce our upcoming event, Pollinator Palooza, which marks the beginning of our highly anticipated Butterfly Exhibit.”

During Pollinator Palooza, visitors will have the chance to preview the Butterfly Exhibit without the need to purchase an additional butterfly house ticket. The event will also feature various booths focusing on pollinator conservation, including organizations like Birds Georgia, Georgia Bat Working Group, and Cobb County Master Gardeners.

Simpson highlighted the importance of the event, noting, “This event will offer visitors a unique opportunity to learn about the crucial role of pollinators and the plants that support their survival.”

The Butterfly Exhibit, open from June 1 to July 31, 2024, will showcase butterflies in all stages of life, from egg to adult butterfly. Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn about the essential plants for butterfly survival, such as tulip poplar and passionflower vine.

Members can explore the exhibit for free, while non-members will need to purchase Butterfly House tickets for $3 per person. Advanced online ticket purchase is recommended for a seamless experience.

The Butterfly Exhibit is made possible by the sponsorship of the Cobb EMC Foundation and the Cherokee Garden Club. For more information about Pollinator Palooza and the "A Garden with Wings" Butterfly Exhibit, interested individuals can visit www.smithgilbertgardens.com.
