The Chattahoochee Tech Foundation recently held the 2024 SPARK Workforce Awards ceremony at the Marietta Campus, where outstanding individuals were recognized for their contributions to the college and the local workforce.
One of the highlights of the event was the presentation of the SPARK Workforce Alumni of the Year award to Paul Hardie, water reclamation supervisor for the Noonday Water Reclamation Facility. Hardie, a graduate of the college's Environmental Technology program, was commended for his work in purifying wastewater, especially during the recent pandemic.
Regarding the SPARK Workforce Industry Partner of the Year award, Jim Larson accepted the honor on behalf of Yancey Brothers. Larson emphasized the importance of collaboration between industries and educational institutions, stating, "If you're an industry partner, it's not always about what they can do for us. But it's also about what we can do and share for them, because that makes the whole community better."
Dr. Anil Yadav of Prestige Medical Group was recognized as the SPARK Workforce Benefactor of the Year for his longstanding support of Chattahoochee Tech students through scholarships. Dr. Yadav expressed his pride in investing in the community, saying, "Our investment in Chatt Tech is investing in our own community."
In addition to the award winners, finalists for the 2024 SPARK Workforce Alumni of the Year award were also acknowledged for their achievements in various programs of study at Chattahoochee Tech. These graduates were praised for stepping into successful careers and contributing to the local workforce.
Chattahoochee Tech Foundation initiated the SPARK Workforce Awards in 2019 to honor those who have made significant contributions to the college and workforce development. The event was sponsored by Atlanta Gas Light, further emphasizing the importance of community support in fostering education and career opportunities for students.
According to Nelson, the foundation's representative, "Our highly-skilled graduates are everywhere helping to build a thriving local workforce. All those who so generously help our students complete their education are providing support that fills the gap and ignites the spark that empowers them to success."
