Just as learning does not end when school lets out, neither does a child's need for good nutrition. The Summer Food Program, run by Sweet Water Mission, aims to provide the nutritious food children require to learn, play, and grow throughout the summer months.

This year, an estimated 10,000 children are in need of assistance during the summer. For only $50, one can sponsor a child and ensure they receive the necessary nutrition during this period. While the goal is ambitious, it is achievable with each sponsor helping one child at a time.

The program focuses on providing nutritious foods such as fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh and frozen meats, milk, fruit juice along with children's favorites like applesauce, macaroni & cheese and peanut butter and jelly.

Donations can be made at www.SweetwaterMission.org. Remember that hunger doesn't end with the school year!
