Croy appoints Mike Barger as director of land surveying services

Georgia-based consulting firm Croy has announced the appointment of Mike Barger, PLS as its Director of Land Surveying Services. In his new role, Barger will oversee Croy’s surveying and mapping efforts, support existing clients, build new relationships, and ensure the production of quality deliverables.

“We are excited to welcome Mike to our Croy team,” said Eddie Wade, PE, Chief Operating Officer for Croy. “His proven ability to deliver accurate, timely, and cost-effective services for our public and private sector clients will help to expand our current surveying capabilities across the Southeast. In addition, his experience and leadership will enable us to continue to support our internal engineering teams.”

Barger brings nearly 40 years of experience in providing surveying services for transportation projects, civil/site development, utility, and infrastructure projects across Georgia. He enhances Croy’s capabilities in 3D laser scanning, topographical and boundary surveys, and bathymetric surveys.

Barger is a member of the Surveying and Mapping Society of Georgia (SAMSOG) and a registered Professional Land Surveyor (PLS). He also holds a Level II Certified Design Professional certification from the Georgia Soil and Water Conservation Commission (GSWCC) and is a graduate of Middle Georgia State University’s Surveying Certificate Program.

Based at Croy’s Marietta headquarters in Georgia, Barger joins a firm that operates additional offices in Chattanooga, Tennessee; Huntsville, Alabama; employing over 100 professionals companywide. The firm’s surveying and mapping capabilities include 3D laser scanning, construction staking, Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), aerial surveys, ALTA/NSPS surveys, boundary retracement surveys, engineering design surveys, route surveys as well as database preparation required by the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). Croy is prequalified with GDOT in Area Classes: 5.01 (Land Surveying), 5.02 (Engineering Surveying), 5.03 (Geodetic Surveying), 5.07 (Cartography), and 5.08 (Subsurface Utility Engineering).
