Life University (Life U) has announced the establishment of its new Center for Veteran Services and Engagement, an initiative designed to support military and veteran students. This Center highlights Life U’s commitment to providing comprehensive resources and a supportive environment for those who have served in the military.

A Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was held on Thursday, July 25, marking the Center’s inauguration. Attendees included President Dr. Rob Scott, members of Life U’s Board of Trustees, military and veteran students, along with other Life U students, faculty, staff, and invited guests.

Under the leadership of Ms. Lisa Collins, a Navy veteran with over 15 years of experience in post-secondary education career services, the Center aims to enhance veteran students’ educational and career success. Ms. Collins brings extensive knowledge and dedication to this role.

“The creation of the Center for Veteran Services and Engagement reflects Life University’s deep respect and appreciation for the sacrifices and contributions of our military and veteran students,” said Dr. Rob Scott. “We are committed to fostering an inclusive and empowering environment where these students can achieve their full potential.”

The Center focuses on several key areas:

- Targeted Resources: Offering specialized programs and services to assist military and veteran students in reaching their educational and career goals.

- Community Building: Facilitating peer connections and networking events to create a strong sense of community among veterans on campus.

- Collaborative Partnerships: Working with various university departments to provide holistic support for military and veteran students.

- Recognition and Growth: Valuing the diverse perspectives of veterans and fostering a culture of learning within the university community.

“This Center will serve as a cornerstone for veteran students, offering a hub of resources, community, and collaboration,” said Ms. Lisa Collins. “We are dedicated to helping veterans navigate their educational journey and achieve their aspirations.”
