On August 20, 2024, Mount Paran Christian School (MPCS) student-athletes gathered at North Metro Church for the Legacy Luncheon, an event organized for Walton Communities senior residents across Georgia. The old-fashioned sock hop allowed seniors and athletes to bond over bebop tunes, Coke floats, poodle skirts, diner food, and vintage cars.

The partnership between Walton Communities and MPCS students is highly valued. It showcases the joy that arises when student-leaders serve the community while having fun. Each year, student-athletes look forward to this event as an opportunity to break away from their school routine and share laughter, stories, and dance moves with senior residents.

In addition to participating in the Legacy Luncheon, Eagle athletes also engage with children at Mission 1:27 Adventure Centers at Walton Communities. Throughout the school year, MPCS partners with the Adventure Center to mentor and serve elementary-aged children through reading sessions, games, and STEAM activities. The mentorship provided by these student-athletes extends beyond sports and has a positive impact on all generations involved.

Angie Smith, Executive Director of Mission 1:27 stated: "We deeply value the involvement of Mount Paran students in our ministry. Their enthusiasm and encouragement not only uplift our community but also serve as a powerful bridge between generations. Their intentional influence and modeling offer meaningful guidance to our elementary-aged students, fostering growth and connection within our program."
