Cobb Schools’ Athlete of the Week program continues to highlight outstanding student-athletes, with support from BSN Sports. This week's honorees are sophomores Grant Albright from Allatoona and Aliceson Lewis from South Cobb.

Grant Albright, a wrestler for the Buccaneers, clinched the 126-lb weight class title at the Warrior Invitational. His journey included defeating last year's champion in the opening round and securing a major decision in the finals. Apart from wrestling, Grant also plays baseball for Allatoona and excels academically.

"He is a critical leader of our team," stated Head Coach Kyle Norred. "Grant leads by example and does a great job showing the younger guys how to work hard. His commitment to wrestling and the team is exceptional." Coach Norred further praised Grant's dual role as an athlete and student: "He is not only a leader on the mats but in the classroom as well. He makes good grades and is respectful to others. We are extremely proud of him and his success."

On the other hand, Aliceson Lewis has been pivotal for South Cobb’s flag football team, which reached playoffs for the first time since its inception. She led her team through four consecutive victories last week, amassing 724 total yards and 12 touchdowns. As a result, South Cobb secured the #2 seed in Area 3 with a 5-1 record in Area play.

"Allie is a centerpiece and focus of our schemes," said Coach Robert Byrd. "We go as she goes, both offensively and defensively." He emphasized her ability to elevate her teammates' performances while maintaining composure under pressure.

Athletic Director Ormond Moore acknowledged Aliceson's impact: "As a sophomore, she's already taken on leadership roles in the Athletic Department... Allie means so much to our school."

Both athletes demonstrate strong leadership qualities on their respective teams while balancing their academic commitments.
