The festive season has brought a wave of community events at South Cobb High School and Pearson Middle School, with both institutions engaging their local communities through various activities.

South Cobb High School recently hosted its annual Winter Wonderland Family Feast, attracting nearly 300 attendees. Among the guests were District 3 Board Member Tre Hutchins and a man in a bright red suit who was notably popular with the children. Principal T.J. Perry expressed satisfaction with the event's success, stating, "It was our largest turnout since we began having the event six years ago, and there was plenty of food and toys, lots of smiles and laughter, and our students did a great job performing."

The feast was initiated by Principal Perry in 2019 and has grown over the years thanks to support from sponsors and Partners in Education. Attendees enjoyed performances by the school's Electricity Show Choir and admired student-created art pieces that decorated the venue.

Meanwhile, Pearson Middle School continues its tradition of community service through initiatives like the Pearson Fresh Market and Pilot's Hangar, which provide essential items to those in need. Principal Dean Yoder highlighted the school's mission "To Connect, To Empower, To Succeed," emphasizing its role as a community hub.

Last month, Pearson hosted its annual Thanksgiving Dinner for over 300 community members. The event featured contributions from Allatoona High School culinary students under Chef Anne Alejandro's guidance. Additionally, Breakfast with Santa saw participation from over 600 children receiving gifts and meals, facilitated by partnerships with MUST Ministries and other local supporters.

Principal Yoder expressed gratitude for these collaborations: "I am beyond grateful for the incredible partnerships, team members, and community supporters who step forward with open hearts and hands to make these initiatives possible." He further noted that these events have become cherished traditions within the community.
