Ned Castleberry, a Campbell High School alumnus, has collaborated with the Cobb Schools Foundation to create a $200,000 scholarship fund in memory of Leslie Marie Walker, a former teacher at Campbell. The scholarship aims to support graduating seniors from Campbell pursuing higher education at public institutions in Georgia.

The Leslie Marie Walker and Ned Castleberry Educational Scholarship Fund honors the legacy of Walker, an English teacher who had a significant impact on her students and the community. "It is my privilege to honor Leslie’s memory by supporting the students she cared so deeply about," said Castleberry. "This scholarship fund reflects her enduring belief in the power of education to transform lives."

Each year, up to eight seniors will receive $5,000 scholarships based on financial need and their interest in fields such as English, Education, Journalism, Communications, or trades. The funds can be used for various educational expenses including tuition and books.

Castleberry's contribution will be made in installments through 2025 to ensure the program's sustainability. The selection process will be managed by the Campbell High School scholarship committee.

The Cobb Schools Foundation expressed gratitude towards Castleberry for his commitment to honoring Walker’s legacy. For more information about the scholarship fund, interested parties are encouraged to contact the Cobb Schools Foundation.
