Durham Middle School participated in the 15th annual World Read Aloud Day on February 5th. This global literacy event highlights the importance of reading aloud. The celebration at Durham included various activities across different grade levels.

Sixth-grade students visited the theater with their reading and English Language Arts (ELA) classes to listen to middle-grade book selections read by teachers, counselors, and library staff. Seventh graders engaged in virtual read-alouds with favorite authors, enjoying popcorn while they listened and sketched related content. Eighth-grade ELA classes focused on reading aloud from dystopian novels as part of their studies.
