Nearly 50 students from Durham Wildcats participated in the Read Across America event by reading to students at Frey Elementary on March 4th. Participants applied through the library and selected picture books suitable for their audience with the help of Library Media Specialist, Mrs. Baker.
Before visiting Frey Elementary, the participants attended a practice session led by Mrs. Baker to learn effective read-aloud strategies. The goal was to make the experience enjoyable for both readers and listeners.
The event was hosted in the Library Learning Commons by Frey's Library Media Specialist, Mrs. Sherman. The Durham Wildcats expressed gratitude to Frey Elementary for including them in their Read Across America celebrations.
